10 Maoists killed in an encounter

According to the police officials in Chhattisgarh, 10 Maoists have been killed in an encounter with the police in Narayanpur district of Chhattisgarh. The incident took place when a large group of Maoists tried to attack a police camp. SP Abhishek Meena, the operations head of the police team said that the Maoists came well prepared for the attack. Not only bullets, the team of Maoists fired shells and even lobbed bombs on the camp. However, the police team swiftly rose to the challenge and answered back with their own force and strategic defense, forcing the Maoists to flee. The incident carried on till early Tuesday morning for about 2 hours. Blood marks and ammunition from the encounter scene have been recovered by the police team. The blood patches and pools suggest that at least 10 of the Maoists were killed but their bodies couldn’t be recovered because they were taken back. The attack comes a day before the government scheduled meeting in Maoists stronghold areas where the people have grievances and are not being able to reach out to the officials. The meeting will, however, take place under full security cover, guarded by police and paramilitary forces.
