People's Democratic Party (PDP) patron Mufti Mohmmad Sayeed took oath as the chief minister of a PDP-BJP coalition government in Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Jammu's General Zorawar Singh Auditorium.

Centre approves AIIMS for Punjab, HP

CHANDIGARH: The proposal of the Union health ministry of setting up an All India Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (AIIMS) in Punjab, Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh last year, has been given the approval in the Union Budget 2015-16. The country is now set to have 12 AIIMS.

Parkash Singh Badal dubs budget as pro-people

Terming the Union Budget as "visionary and pro-people", Punjab government on Saturday expressed gratitude to Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley for announcing projects like AIIMS, horticulture research institute for the state even as Congress said there was nothing in it for the people.
